Shadows of Iron

These images are created using the Cyanotype process, a popular photographic technique since the nineteenth century. Rag paper is hand coated with a photosensitive, iron-based liquid. The paper is then pressed against iron fencing and exposed to sunlight, in essence, photographing the shadows cast on the paper.

Each print is unique, with images the same size as the subject.

Dimensions given are of the paper, which is slightly larger than the image. No Camera or lenses are used.
