Welcome to a Story Board by David Sokosh for a 30 second, vertical, social media video portrait of Anna Hyatt Huntington’s “Greyhounds Playing" sculpture from 1936. Each cell on the board represents approxiamtely 1 second of time. Also included below is a link to a simple animation of this story board to give an idea of the finished piece and a link to a Cyanimation Moving Picture example titled “Shelburne: Clown Automaton” to give an idea of the Cyanimation process.
The finished “Greyhounds Playing” video will be created as a Cyanimation Moving Picture. This process starts with digital footage, which is separated into individual still frames. These are output onto digital negative film and printed in Cyanotype. Then the prints are scanned and sequenced to re-create motion. The result is reminiscent of early film, mysterious, beautiful and rendered in Cyanotype blue.
This page was prepared by David Sokosh for The National Gallery of Art’s Open Call for Social Media Videos, inspired by works in the NGA Collection, February 2026.
